Our Comenius group
Gymnasium Michelstadt was built in 1823 and is a secondary school. At our school there are 118 teachers, teaching about 1400 students from 10-18 years. Our principal is Dr. Waldkircher.
The school is divided into 8 buildings. We have got special rooms for special subjects, for example do we have rooms for the subject chemistry and also for biology, physics, music, art, geography, photography, PE, library and furthermore are there 4 computer laboratories. There is also a cafeteria where a great variety of dishes is served every weekday. 5 schoolyards offer the chance of being active during the break; you can also find a boulder wall. At our school you can learn Spanish, French and Latin in regular lessons; as extra-curricular activities there are even more languages you can learn.
We have special classes for PE, music and science, who have more lessons in music or sport or who take part in certain competitions.
Quite an amount of students take part in our Big Band, getting the chance of travelling to other countries and there playing there music.
We have partner schools in Iceland, Czech Republic, China, Italy, Scotland, France; these are the countries that are regularly visited in exchange travels by classes from 9th to 12th grade.
